MHS grad and soldier, Edvin F. Franco, dies in Lithuania

Edvin F. Franco, a 2018 Monrovia High School graduate, was among the four U.S. soldiers who lost their lives last week in Lithuania while conducting a training mission, according to Monrovia Schools Superintendent Dr. Paula Hart Rodas. She added that “Edvin’s dedication to service and his sacrifice for our country will never be forgotten.” Franco’s Facebook page says he was married in March of 2024 to Georgia Franco and was living in Hinesville, Georgia.

  4. It's a shame that Trump doesn't respect this person enough to attend the service to honor his passing. Very disgraceful.

  5. As a huge supporter of the military, a former volunteer for the LAX Bob Hope USO for over 3 yrs, I am grateful for his service and saddened by the loss of him and the other fellow soldiers. I will have to point out what a disgrace this president is to go golfing when he should have been there for the transfer. he is a total disgrace. This man who gave his life for his country deserved better. Rest in peace.

    1. On August 26, 2024, the third anniversary of the Kabul attack, former President Donald Trump attended a private event at Arlington National Cemetery to honor the 13 service members, whereas President Biden remained in Delaware without any public events scheduled.

Surely you don’t expect a president to attend every memorial for every fallen service person… or are you just looking for an opportunity to bash Trump?

  6. Yes, absolutely disgraceful. He's a complete embarrassment to our nation and he cares for no one other that himself and advancing his own financial interests. Anyone who thought he was going to advocate for the citizens of this country has been sold a false bill of goods whether they believe it or not.

  8. That may be true for you, but it's apparently not for Trump. It's ok to admit that he's a liar and will not advocate for anything to benefit the citizens of the country.
