  1. Didn't I say getting rid of the current Superintendent would be a waste of money? Buyout, Salary for the interim Supt and now more money to hire a search firm to look for a Supt than the money needed for the new contract for the Supt,

    1. I remember you saying that! The previous superintendent got paid $300,000 to move on stay quiet and not sue. The current person is making $220,000. Now it’s $25,000 to find another superintendent. This board could care less about our money.

  2. lol minimum $25k to hire the search firm!

District executives don’t have connections in the industry to find a good referral?

More funding being taken from the kids and our taxes.

  3. Isn’t hiring a new superintendent part of the job?

  4. Anyone else notice that they want to pay another business consultant $190 per hour? Last month, they agreed to pay a different consultant $210 per hour. All for vague services. That’s more than anyone else in the district makes by a lot. Teachers make $40 per hour! Everyone is right, the board doesn’t care about the taxpayer’s money.

  5. Hiring a search firm is fairly standard practice for districts looking to hire Superintendents. It is like the CEO of a company or ED of a large non-profit. These are complex positions and difficult, if not impossible, to hire for without a quality firm. Moreover, the work it takes to run a search and interview process is not tenable for a volunteer group of public servants. While folks may mot like the costs of services, that is just what it is to do business.

I hope we land a good Superintendent who can drive (and fund) innovation and create a climate in which all of our kids find a place where they thrive.

    1. lol what good did that do with the last few superintendents we had?

Sometimes you need to look within your own organization and see what capable people you have. If you don’t have anyone able to make the jump that is a problem as well.
