Plans to Move Historic Anderson House on Hold

Monrovia's historic Anderson House will stay where it is. The home, which the Historical Society and city were considering moving next door to the Monrovia Historical Museum in Recreation Park, won't be moved any time in the near future, according to Historical Society President Sandy Burud.

She said an analysis revealed that moving it would mean cutting it into two parts so it could fit below the trees on the way to the park, which would cause a lot of damage to the house (dislodging plaster, etc.) and trigger regulations that would require much new work on the structure. And that would  "defeat the purpose of preserving the historically pristine structure."
