About 85 people — city and school officials, family of Almera Romney, former students, and the public, gathered in front of the Canyon Early Learning Center Saturday morning to unveil the latest neighborhood treasure in honor of Romney.
As principal of the segregated Huntington School (no longer existing), Romney fought discrimination to give all students an equal education.
