Monrovia City Council Plans Zoning Change to Allow 436-Unit Apartment

At its next meeting (agenda: https://is.gd/AlZxLh) the Monrovia City Council will consider changing the zoning of a 9.6 acre area near the train station to allow the development of a 436-unit, five-story apartment complex and a seven story (eight level) parking structure with 798 stalls.

The property is a full city block, bounded by West Evergreen Avenue to the north, the Gold Line Light Rail tracks to the south, South Magnolia Avenue to the east, and South Mayflower Avenue to the west. https://is.gd/kZJgb5

  1. No, please stop the constant addition to our population in Monrovia. The traffic is becoming horrible, very "Glendale" like. Yes, it is near the gold line and fwy, but people still drive to most hings within the city. Our water and electrical grid are being strained. I let my lawn die a few years ago due to the water shortage. More users without large levies to the developer to offset additional water purchases by the city are not good for those of us who have lived here for years. This is purely a money grab for the city and is another diminishing move towards a lower quality of life for all.
