Hillside Areas Closed - Rain Damage

The Monrovia city web site is announcing that, “Canyon Park and the Hillside Wilderness Preserve will remain closed until further notice.”

I spoke with a park volunteer today who told me the rains have messed up the trails and they’re unsafe. She guesstimated they’ll be open by next week, though I got the sense it might be earlier if all goes well.

UPDATE: I spoke to a city official this morning who said the city hopes to have the park and preserve open by tomorrow, Thursday.
