County to Build New Library to Serve Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte Area

On a recommendation by Supervisor Michael Antonovich, the Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of a new library site to improve public library services for county residents of the Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte area. The new library will be on a 22,000 square foot parcel at 22 West Live Oak Blvd., and will cost $2.17 million. A public hearing to receive comment and complete the proposed acquisition is set for September 27. Source: press release

  1. Have these 3 cities outgrown their own libraries? Will this 1 library close the other 3 down? If the new one will be in Arcadia why build a new one, why not use 1 of the existing libraries for all 3 cities?

    1. This is for residents of the unincorporated county area of Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte. This does not involve incorporated cities, just county-controlled area.
