During the last seven-day period, the Police Department handled 398 service events, resulting in 77 investigations.

Stolen Motorcycle
October 26 at 7:02 a.m., a motorcycle was reported stolen from the 500 block of East Almond Avenue. The victim parked his motorcycle at the end of his driveway, near his home. When he returned to it in the morning, it was gone. He did not hear anything unusual and had no idea who would have taken it. The motorcycle information was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle database. The investigation is continuing.

Residential Burglary
October 26 at 10:45 a.m., an officer responded to the report of a burglary in the 200 block of North Encinitas. The suspect made entry into the residence through an open window and stole a 16-week-old, Pitbull/Bullmastiff puppy. Several hours later, the victim received a call from the Pasadena Humane Society informing him that his dog had been located. The house had signs of a break-in. The investigation is continuing.

Grand Theft Auto
October 26 at 2:22 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 800 block of West Walnut Avenue. The victim listed the vehicle for sale on Craigslist. On October 24, a male suspect met with her to test drive the vehicle. The victim allowed the suspect to drive the vehicle and he has not returned. The vehicle information was entered into the law enforcement stolen vehicle database. The investigation is continuing.

Petty Theft
October 27 at 1:33 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of East Greystone Avenue called police to report she had a package stolen from her front porch. Two female Hispanic subjects were seen exiting a silver Honda Civic and removing a package from the porch. The investigation is continuing.

Stolen Vehicle
October 28 at 3:59 a.m., a vehicle was reported stolen from the 300 block of South Fifth Avenue. The resident parked and locked his car on the street in front of his house in the evening and went inside his home. He returned to his vehicle in the morning and immediately saw it was missing. He did not give anyone permission to take his car, a 2003, 2-door, silver, Honda Accord.

Grand Theft
October 28 at 10:50 a.m., a grand theft was reported at a business in the 700 block of East Huntington Drive. An employee of the business reportedly sold expensive products from the business to a customer off of the books. The suspect then paid two other employees to keep quiet about the transaction they had witnessed. The suspect employee was fired and the police were called. Some of the product was returned. The investigation is continuing.

Injury Traffic Collision/Vehicle vs. Bicyclist
October 28 at 11:51 a.m., a female on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle in the area of Shamrock and Colorado. The bicyclist was traveling the same direction as the vehicle, veered into the lane of traffic and was struck. The impact was at a slow speed, as both parties were approaching a stop sign. The bicyclist fell to the ground and sustained lacerations and complained of pain to her neck. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Driving Under the Influence – Suspect Arrested
October 28 at 2:59 p.m., officers responded to the report of an erratic driver in the 600 block of West Huntington. They located the vehicle and the female driver parked in a business parking lot, taking up several spaces. After speaking with the subject, the officers determined she had been drinking. The driver complained of chest pains and was taken to a hospital, where she was cleared for booking. She was taken back to the Monrovia Police Department, where she was booked and held for sobering.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – Suspect Arrested
October 29 at 3:36 a.m., a male adult walked into the Monrovia Police Department lobby and told the dispatcher he was turning himself in because he was under the influence of methamphetamine. An officer contacted the subject and after investigation, determined the subject was under the influence of a controlled substance. The officer arrested the subject and he was held for sobering.

Vehicle Burglary
October 29 at 4:35 a.m., a resident parked his car on the street in the 800 block of West Chestnut, locked the doors, and went into his apartment on Walnut. At 4:35 a.m., he went out to his car and discovered the driver-side window was shattered. His two jackets and iPad were taken from the front passenger seat. The investigation is continuing.
