Monrovia Church Moving to Make Room for Wine Village

Calvary Chapel Monrovia will be moving. A staff report at the City Council meeting Tuesday said the church - near Myrtle on Evergreen on the south side of the 210, next to the Chevron station - is leasing its property from the city and will have to move to make way for the wine village the city has planned. The church's lease expires at the end of this month.

  2. Well, more precisely a "Wine Plaza Tuscan Village" http://www.monrovianow.com/2014/10/monrovia-council-wine-plaza-tuscan.html

  3. The city should allow the church to stay there. Even Jesus liked wine

  4. We all know the city wants to increase its revenue by this move. Personally I don't see the issue.

  5. I don't think that is the motivating factor for the city council. The other company that wanted the property was a hotel. Which do you think brings in more revenue for the city?

  6. Can't answer because I don't know the size and scope of the hotel project. Either way a hotel or wine village is more than a non-profit church. Thanks!
