~ Citrus College, which serves Monrovia, and Azusa Pacific University, will pay tribute to veterans at the eighth annual "Saluting our Veterans" event, 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Citrus Campus Center Mall, 1000 W. Foothill Blvd., Glendora. There will be a performance by Gladstone High School's marching band, an AMVETS Honor Guard, military exhibits, keynote speeches and a patriotic musical tribute.
~ Books with an orange dot on the spine will be half price at the Friends of the Monrovia Public Library bookstore this November. Regular prices range from $0.25 to $2. The store, in the library is open Monday-Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday, noon-5 p.m.
