~ Monrovia's State Senator, Carol Liu, has introduced a bill that would exclude second graders from the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) Program ( http://goo.gl/8W7cq ). Liu has also introduced a bill ( http://goo.gl/Q411T ) loosening the welfare-to-work provisions of CalWORKs for additional classes of pregnant women.
