Fire advancing slowly; devastation in Altadena and Pasadena horrendous

At 1:20 p.m. today it still appears the fire is on the west side of Santa Anita Canyon, north of Arcadia. Winds have died down and it doesn’t appear to be moving very quickly.

A friend, at PasadenaNow, however, said the devastation to Altadena and Pasadena is horrendous. While we were on the phone, he said that Elliot Middle School was completely involved in flames. Also Saint Mark’s Church on Altadena Drive, a synagogue, and hundreds of homes. You might want to pray for them.
