School Board Member Travanti Applauds Trump Conviction

Monrovia school board member Maritza Travanti has weighed in on national politics. She tweeted on X.com (formerly Twitter):

“What a great day this has turned out to be! Not Mueller, not Congress, but a jury of peers have found Trump guilty on all 34 counts! Well done!”

  1. She should worry more about our schools less about our former president who has no influence on the kids

    1. Travanti is the most clueless member of the Monrovia School Board. She makes Selene look like a genius. She’s just a puppet for Pawn Shop Rob. Does whatever he tells her to. The two of them are the reason we will now have a superintendent who has zero experience. Paula Hart Rodas hasn’t been an executive at any level at all and has only been in Monrovia two years (no one knows who she is) so of course Maritza and Rob wanted her. They want to control the superintendent for their own dumb games. If they wanted to hire someone who’s is not qualified, Gero would’ve been better. He’s at least a Monrovian.

    2. Maritza wouldn’t allow the district to fly the pride flag during pride month when she was school board president.

  2. You’re mad because it’s 34 guilty counts against this man. I love you in Christ

  3. I could care less if she likes Trump or Biden. I’m more concerned that she and the rest of the School Board do their job effectively.
    Can’t really say they have.

    1. Why complain about her, run for a seat on the school board if you can do better.

    2. Maritza Travanti also tweeted something about hating being forced to move to trustee areas, but took it down after she and her BFF Rob found a way to gerrymander the boundaries so he can stay on. Now suddenly she thinks it’s a great idea. She needs Her BFF Rob on the board so she knows how to vote. She’s corrupt!

    3. I’ve been around enough of the political machine around Monrovia as well as other city and state politicians. I want no part of it. Very few are there to serve the people that elected them. Those that do don’t stay in office long.

I prefer actually volunteering and non profit board work.

  4. Poor Maritza suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Doesn't understand the weaponization of the legal system is never a good thing. To post such a divisive comment clearly shows that she doesn't understand her responsibility to represent all children and not just her side. God help us.

    1. Agreed. Stay in your lane, madame. Do your job first and shut up, otherwise.

  5. Who could’ve inverted the flags at Monrovia Public Library? Does the City of Monrovia officially espouse a feeling of distress to life and property? Why is it declared that there was “no crime committed” with such as act? If the City did not authorize such a display, one would think it is an act of defacement or vandalism of city property, at least.

On a serous note Brad, I think today's flag vandalism brings a serious topic to the table; as much as we all enjoy coming onto MonroviaNow for the occasional donnybrook and tomfoolery over politics in the comments, we cannot forget our obligation, nay, or DUTY to be very sensitive to the feelings of Trump supporters

Even the most die-hard Trumper can, at this point, recognize the reality in front of them that the man for whom they attribute so much of their identity and self-worth is a self-absorbed criminal with body odor issues and worsening dementia who can’t win elections that aren’t rigged and considers his followers to be a way to be raise money to pay his legal bills; each of those in red farty-five hats staring in the distance are processing their shattered reality in their own way.

There is no group in our nation's long history have been more oppressed than Trump supporters and, as such, it is our sacred obligation to preserve and protect their feelings at all costs.

Take care of yourselves out there and may God Bless the United States of America

There are no winners nor losers here my friend, only those who see fit to spend their Friday night posting anonymous comments on a municipal news blog.

  7. Monrovia Unified District leaders do not care about families and children. they all about control and power. hired new leaders, teachers, campus assistants, superintendent and Principals who actually care about kids and families. Monrovia Unified school District budget is so bad and is not a good district.
