- Receive a report on its dual-language immersion programs. The report says Spanish-speaking students go from 90% Spanish-teaching in kindergarten to 50% in fifth grade. So... if by age five when they enter kindergarten the kids are speaking 100% Spanish, why can't they be speaking 100% English after another five years when they are in fifth grade?
