~ Related to Black History Month, unofficial Monrovia Historian, Steve Baker, reports that Monrovia's Shiloh AME Zion Church, (1023 S. Canyon Blvd.) was founded by black immigrants from South Carolina who came here to work on Lucky Baldwin's ranch before Monrovia was a city. He said the church just celebrated its 129th anniversary. Monrovia, he said, was diverse from the start.
~ City Council member Becky Shevlin reports that Monrovia should have a new city manager by mid to late February.
