LA County Public Works will build a temporary debris wall - to protect against mudflows - on Monrovia city property at the north end of Highland Place, where the vegetation was burned off because of the Madison fire.
The wall will be made of timber, designed to let water flow through, but not large rock, dirt and other hillside debris. It will be in place for approximately five years to allow vegetation to grow back.
There will be a public forum on Thursday, September 19, 7 p.m. at the Library Community Room to discuss the project. For further information call (626) 932-5575 or email pwcomments@ci.monrovia.ca.us.
